An administrator decides whether AI Copilot may change data, and whether it asks first.
Where
Settings > Configuration Editor, section AI Copilot (below the switch that turns Copilot on).
What Copilot may do
- Only read (default): Copilot reads and answers, but never changes data.
- Read and edit: Copilot may also create and update records and add comments.
- Read, edit and delete: Copilot may also delete records (they go to the recycle bin).
Ask for confirmation before changes
On by default. Copilot then shows each change as a card in the chat, for example "Update Mobil Testlead deal – Sales stage: Contacted → Meeting agreed", with Confirm and Cancel. Nothing changes until the user clicks Confirm.
Deleting always asks for confirmation, whatever this setting says.
Safety
- Copilot always works as the logged-in user, with their permissions. It can only change what the user could change themselves.
- Changes are made like a normal save: workflows run, and the change is kept in the record's history under the user's name.
- Copilot never sends emails. It can write a draft for the user to send.
- Only Copilot in the app can change data. AI agents in workflows cannot.
Tips
- Say clearly what to change, for example "Set the sales stage on this deal to Meeting agreed" or "Create a task for me tomorrow at 10:00 linked to this ticket".
- If a required field is missing, Copilot asks for it.
- The open record is not reloaded after a change; refresh the page to see it.
