Quotes, sales orders, invoices and purchase orders show their products and services in the Item Details table. Every line has the same columns in all four modules.
Columns on a line
- Item Name: the product or service. Pick it with the search field or the catalog button.
- Product Name: filled in from the selected product or service. You can change it for this line only.
- Item Comment: filled in from the product's description. You can change it for this line only.
- Quantity
- Purchase Cost and Margin: the product's purchase cost times the quantity, and the selling price minus that cost. They are shown on quotes, sales orders and invoices, not on purchase orders.
- Selling Price: the price of one unit. Below it you find:
- (-) Discount: use the toggle next to the field to choose % or a fixed amount, then type the value. A line has either a percentage or an amount, not both.
- Total After Discount: quantity times price, minus the discount.
- Total: quantity times price.
- Net price: the line total after discount. With Tax Type set to Individual, the line's tax is added.
Tax per line
The tax rates of a line are only shown when Tax Type is Individual. With Group, which is the default on a new record, the tax is calculated in the totals. See the article about tax region, currency and tax type.
Totals
Under the table you find Sub Total, Discount, Charges, Profit, Pre Tax Total, the tax, Adjustment and Total. Profit is the pre-tax total minus the purchase cost of the lines.
The Details tab
Totals, Currency, Conversion Rate, Tax Region and the other fields that belong to the table are not repeated as plain fields in the Details blocks. Use the Item Details table.
Different columns for a customer
Which fields the table shows, and in which column and order, is part of each customer's field setup. Extra fields in the product table get their own column automatically. Contact Simply support if you need a different layout.
